BRE365 Soakaway testing

BRE365 Soakaway testing

BRE365 Soakaway testing

Our team conducts BRE365 soakaway testing in accordance with Building Research Establishment guidelines to determine soil infiltration rates for sustainable drainage systems (SuDS). These tests are essential for designing soakaways and ensuring compliance with planning and building regulations. We manage the full process, from excavation and test execution to producing factual reports that aid drainage design.

Plate Bearing Testing

BRE365 Soakaway testing

BRE365 Soakaway testing

We provide Plate Bearing Tests to assess the bearing capacity and settlement behaviour of in-situ soils, commonly used for evaluating access roads, crane platforms, and temporary works. These tests deliver critical data on CBR values and the modulus of subgrade reaction, helping engineers design safe and stable load-bearing surfaces. Our experienced technicians ensure reliable on-site results and clear reporting.

Engineer Supervision

BRE365 Soakaway testing

Trial Pitting and Shear Vane Testing

Our qualified geotechnical engineers provide on-site supervision for drilling operations and all types of ground investigations. Their oversight ensures that all works are carried out safely, in accordance with project specifications and industry best practices. From sampling integrity to data quality control, our supervision guarantees the reliability and value of the investigation process.

Trial Pitting and Shear Vane Testing

Trial Pitting and Shear Vane Testing

We carry out trial pitting to visually inspect ground conditions, stratigraphy, and soil consistency. Coupled with in-situ shear vane testing, we assess the undrained shear strength of cohesive soils. This combination of services provides practical, real-time geotechnical information for both preliminary assessments and detailed investigations.

Foundation Exposure Surveys

Foundation exposure surveys involve uncovering existing foundations to assess their depth, condition, and construction type. These investigations are vital during structural assessments, building extensions, or remediation works. Our engineers perform these surveys carefully and efficiently, minimizing disruption while providing accurate data to support design or retrofit decisions.

Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) Testing

Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing is a rapid and cost-effective method for estimating CBR values and evaluating the strength of soil subgrades. This test is ideal for assessing road formation layers and ground conditions where full-scale testing is not feasible. Our DCP service offers immediate insights into soil consistency and compaction quality for design or verification purposes

Services

Gas and Water Monitoring

We offer comprehensive ground gas and groundwater monitoring to assess contamination risks and inform environmental and construction strategies. Using a range of instrumentation, we monitor for hazardous gases such as methane and carbon dioxide, as well as water levels and quality over time. Our monitoring services support compliance with regulatory standards and ensure safe development on brownfield or sensitive sites.

Long-Term Telemetry Water Monitoring (Streams, Rivers, or Boreholes)

Our long-term telemetry water monitoring provides continuous, real-time monitoring of groundwater levels in streams, rivers, and boreholes, allowing for efficient, long-duration monitoring with minimal site visits. This service is ideal for wetland projects, flood risk assessments, and baseline hydrological studies. In addition to level monitoring, we also offer periodic manual water sampling for laboratory analysis. These samples can be tested for key environmental indicators such as nitrates, phosphates, and other nutrients, which are particularly important for evaluating water quality in wetland restoration, conservation, and environmental compliance projects.

Phase I Desk Study Reports

Phase I Desk Study Reports

Phase I Desk Study Reports are a critical first step in understanding the environmental and geotechnical context of a site. We work closely with our consultants to produce comprehensive reports that include a review of historical land use, geological and hydrogeological data, environmental records, and site walkover findings. These studies identify potential risks such as contamination, ground instability, or unexploded ordnance (UXO), and provide preliminary recommendations for further investigation if required.
